Shinfield Remembers

As a village community we gathered at the war memorial on Remembrance Sunday to commemorate before God those who had given their lives in the service of their country in all conflicts since and including World War One. You can see the service using this YouTube link  The service is a partnership of churches, parish council, Berkshire Cadet Force and uniformed organisations such as Guides, Scouts, Brownies, Beavers and Cubs. Local school children led us in our prayers and a pledge of service. It is always very special to come before God in this way to seek his help and forgiveness, to give thanks for those who gave their lives and to pray for peace in our world. We do all this in the hope given to us by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
